Hay ocasiones en que quieres descargar videos de youtube. En Ubuntu, tenemos una aplicación llamada clive que permite bajar los vídeos de páginas web a tu ordenador. Este tutorial explica detalladamente como descargar videos de youtube, pero puedes utilizar clive con casi cualquier web que use flash para reproducir video, como por ejemplo Vimeo.
Para este tutorial, vamos a tomar como ejemplo el siguiente vídeo de Top Gear BBC

1. Instálate cclive:
sudo apt-get install cclive
2. Usa el programa youtube-dl para descargar videos de youtube al ordenador. La anterior solucion que yo proponia en esta entrada ya no funciona correctamente.

3. Si queremos saber los formatos de video que hay disponibles en youtube para ese clip, usaremos la opcion -F

A continuacion, si queremos bajarnos la version de 720p en MP4, usaremos -f y el codigo del formato que en este caso es el 136
